Speaking at Kasarani Stadium, the deputy president outlined his agenda for the country once elected president. While addressing his supporters, he said the main agenda will be tackling the high levels of unemployment, health care, climate change, housing and settlement, agriculture, and micro, small and medium enterprises.

HEALTH CARE FOR ALL
Health care is one of the pillars in the agenda for the country; Kenya Kwanza is planning to deliver the Universal HEALTH Coverage system, replacing the National Social Security Fund with a universal fund covering pension, occupational hazards, and unemployment insurance.
A high level of unemployment in the country which as of 2021 was at 6.2%, is another agenda that was outlined in the bottom-up module.
FOOD SECURITY
The agricultural sector will be given a budget of Ksh8.8 million shillings to cater for fertilizer production and the milk sector to ensure profitable returns for the farmers. Agriculture, as Ruto stated, is a high employment multiplier, and investing in agriculture will create jobs in many sectors along with the economy.
Since the covid-19 pandemic, the country’s cost of living has risen, which can be tackled through affirmative actions in micro and small businesses. Ruto promised to pump Ksh250 billion to support a hustler fund for the registered SMEs.
250’000units a year is needed to cater to the housing deficiency In the country. Ruto promised to invest Ksh250billion. Against a production of 50’00 units a year, housing is a major issue in the country.

A BETTER EDUCATION SECTOR
In the education sector, the Kenya Kwanza government promises to address the lack of a level playing field. It promises to commit to equitable universal basic education in the 12 years of schooling by bridging the teacher shortage within the first two financial years and reviewing the current exam-based system of academic progression.
The manifesto also commits to providing financial support for women through the provision of free sanitary towels in all schools and public washrooms and the Hustler fund to support women-led chamas, merry-go-rounds, and SACCOs.
