Milways Enterprises founder Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga is embroiled in a corruption scandal. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is investigating a Ksh4.8 billion contract to Milways Enterprises by the Kenya Prisons Service.
MILLICENT OMANGA 4.8 BILLION PRISON SCANDAL
Being one of the four companies awarded the contract, the Milways Enterprise was to receive Ksh200million to supply gun slings. Nation Africa reported this, and questions were raised since long rifles come with gun slings already equipped.

Millicent Omanga is a 40-year-old nominated Senator by the Jubilee Party. She was born on 30th May 1982. She studied at Mumbi Girls High School in Murang’a County and left in 1999 after O-levels. Then later went to the University of Nairobi and studied Journalism and had a Master’s in Commerce. Millicent Omanga is married to Dr. Francis Nyambiobo and is blessed with two children. Wayne is the name of the son, and the daughter is Maya.
The nominated senator worked as a director at Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen) in 2013 after losing the Nairobi Senatorial to Hon. Mike Sonko. In 2017 she contested for the Nairobi Women’s Representative seat but lost to Hon. Esther Passaris.
SUGGESTED POST
Omanga has on numerous occasions said that she owes her success to Dr. William Ruto, the Kenyan deputy president. She said that Ruto believes in youth empowerment and potential; therefore, she is forever grateful to him.
Millicent Omanga has been involved in several dramas that brought attention to her lifestyle and political alignments.

Threatening Babu Owino
After the disputed 2017 General Elections, she threatened to circumcise Hon. Babu Owino, the Embakasi Member of Parliament. Babu Owino was interviewed insulting the family of President Uhuru Kenyatta. These lead to verbal altercations between Millicent and Babe Owino.

Russia Trip
During the 2018 World Cup held in Russia, several members of Parliament went to the world cup for a benchmarking trip using the taxpayers’ money. The nominated senator posted photos of her in Russia downing a Croatian Football Team jersey which angered Kenyans since the country had not qualified for the finals. The senator later said she had used her money to cater for the trip due to her love for football.
Seductive Dances
In February 2019, the Senator shared a video where she was dancing seductively to Jaguar songs. She was in Radio Jambo studios, where Kenyans were torn between. Some Kenyans heaped praise on her dance moves, but others were not thrilled.
During an interview with Betty Kyallo on Betty’s Up Close show on K24, she also was seen dancing and shaking her booty. The video trended throughout social media.
Recently, in May 2022, a video of the Nominated Senator dancing on her Facebook page went viral. She was lamenting how a Kenyan Vlogger did not portray her prowess in dancing well. She jokingly told Crazy Kennar that ‘anafaa viboko mingi.’
Drama at National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC)
In March 2022, after waiting in line for the summons, the senator caused drama at the NCIC offices. She wanted to know why she had been kept waiting for too long. Millicent had been summoned to answer accusations that she incited political violence during the Kabuchai and Matungu By-elections.
She has been ejected from a podium while addressing mourners at the funeral of Kisii Deputy Governor Father.
Conclusions
The corruption allegations against Millicent Omanga’s company have led to many Kenyans questioning how an Interior décor and furniture company was given a tender gun slings for the Kenya Prisons Service. She has, however, denied the allegations, and the Ethics And Anti-Corruption commission is investigating the cases.
